Practical Use and Selection of Rubber Isolator

The shock isolation effect of different rubber isolators is different, so the vibration amplitude of the machine will be different. Different amplitudes have different effects on the operating efficiency of the machine, resulting in different fluctuation range of machine operation, and then the fluctuation range of finished products produced by the machine will be different. Therefore, rubber vibration isolator is one of the important factors affecting the vibration of the whole machine.
Generally, the selection of isolator should consider the following: excellent elastic performance and low stiffness; High bearing capacity, high strength and proper damping; The durability is good, the performance is stable, and it does not change the performance due to the external temperature, humidity and other conditions. Strong acid, alkali and oil erosion ability; Easy access to materials, stable prices; Convenient for processing, maintenance and replacement; Non-toxic, non-radioactive; It has flame retardant properties. Rubber isolators are more cost-effective than other isolators.
Rubber isolator is the simplest vibration isolation component made of rubber material, and it is also a common vibration isolation device in engineering. It can be divided into compression type, shear type and compression shear type. The rubber isolator is generally composed of a restraint surface and a free surface. The restraint surface is usually connected with metal. The free surface refers to the side that deforms when it is loaded vertically on the restraint surface. The vibration isolation parameters of the rubber isolator are not only related to the composition of the rubber material used, but also related to the factors such as the shape of the structure, the mode of force and so on. Compared with the spring, the rubber isolator has the following characteristics: rubber is easy to shape, it can be firmly bonded together with metal, and can be made into various arbitrarily complex shapes. Rubber has internal friction and critical damping is large, so it rarely has the strong resonance of a steel spring, or the special resonance of a spiral spring.
In addition, rubber vibration isolator is usually made by combining rubber with metal. The sound resistance of metal and rubber is relatively high, which can effectively play the role of sound insulation. The elastic coefficient of the rubber isolator can be changed in a wide range by changing the rubber composition and structure to meet the needs of design and use.  The rubber isolator is not suitable for the low natural frequencies, and the static compression capacity cannot be too large. Therefore, it is not suitable for systems with low interference frequency and equipment with large weight. It is more suitable for vibration isolation of small and medium-sized equipment. The commonly used frequency range is 5 ~ 15Hz. The performance of rubber isolator is greatly affected by temperature, and its performance is not good at high temperature; the elastic coefficient will change when it is used at low temperature, so it must be used in accordance with the actual situation.
