On most rubber isolators the visible failure mode is not a broken mount. It is a dirty one. Untreated elastomer is slightly tacky, so dust, machining chips, packaging fibres and metal powder collect on the damping gap. That layer changes the friction behaviour the part was tuned for, and at the same time the trapped grit acts as an abrasive that slowly removes material from the rubber surface. The result is a drifting natural frequency, a growing pile of debris under the equipment, and a contamination path into exactly the environments precision hardware is supposed to survive.
The JZP-15-SC addresses this at the surface rather than at the specification sheet: a bonded coating lowers friction at the interface and removes the tack that traps particles.
Dust, fibres and chips do not adhere to the elastomer, so the damping gap stays clear between inspection intervals.
Reduced sliding resistance at the friction pair cuts surface abrasion, which keeps the tuned damping behaviour stable over the 8-year service life.
Because the surface does not shed material onto the mounting face, there is no particle source sitting directly under optical, electronic or cleanroom equipment.
The coating is applied as part of the moulding and finishing process, not as a field-applied release agent, so it does not need reapplication and does not transfer onto gloves, fixtures or the equipment base.
